“I’ve always had a profound connection to literacy. I decided that I would be an author at an early age. I graduated from University of Central Florida with a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing. However, during my senior year, I had three jobs— one of which was an extended day camp counselor. Tasked with helping elementary students complete their homework before engaging in games and activities, I was baffled by how much things seemed to have changed since my time in primary.
With piqued curiosity and the need to define my next steps of self-establishment, I entered the field of education. I had no idea that this move would actually lead me to my true purpose: to change the way that literacy learning is defined, as well as the way that it has been used to define marginalized groups as less capable. My doctoral dissertation focuses on how technology is viewed by educators, as well as how it can be leveraged to make an immeasurable difference in the teaching and learning community.
LLET Inc. is the pathway to everything I’ve striven for throughout my life. It is the culmination of what I care about, the "good" that I desire to share with the world, and the change that I want to make for humankind.”
